I finally figured out how to lift the cosmetic engine cover off the 4C’s naughty little 1750.

In what appears to be an effort to save space for the rear boot, all these hoses are just haphazardly routed with no regard to aesthetics.

I’m on board with this. There’s an honest purposefulness to it. The opposite of fake vents if you like.

Some of those ‘cosmetic’ engine covers play an important part in directing air flow and cooling, might want to keep it on if that’s the case.

It’s Italian, they routed the hoses just to get them connected , then said they fixed it tomorrow. Of course, tomorrow never comes in Italy.

I gotta give Mazda some credit here. They went back to a metal cam cove r like the old cars, the one thing they did that added weight on the ND.

Good point, y eah, I don’t plan on finding out. Will start it up to gawk at its vibrations for a bit, but put the cover back on for driving. Interestingly, the cover itself is metal around the vents.
